DIFICULTADES EN EL RAZONAMIENTO INDUCTIVO DE PROFESORES DE SECUNDARIA AL GENERALIZAR UN PATRÓN CUADRÁTICO
El objetivo de este estudio consistió en identificar las dificultades en el razonamiento inductivo de profesores de matemáticas de secundaria al resolver un problema de generalización. El problema consistió en inducir la regla general correspondiente al comportamiento cuadrático de los valores de una variable, y se aplicó a diecinueve profesores quienes lo resolvieron por escrito de manera individual. El análisis de los datos se llevó a cabo a través de comparar y contrastar los procesos inductivos empleados por los profesores que obtuvieron la regla general del patrón, con respecto a quienes no alcanzaron a generalizar. Las dificultades halladas radican principalmente en el proceso para establecer el patrón y están asociadas a la observación de una regularidad global entre los datos, al establecimiento de relaciones entre variables y a la abstracción de lo general.

Abstract:
The goal of this study is to identify the difficulties in inductive reasoning of secondary school mathematics teachers when solving a generalization problem. The problem was to induce the general rule corresponding to the quadratic behavior of the values of a variable; the problem was given to nineteen teachers who worked it individually and in writing. The data analysis was carried out by comparing and contrasting the inductive processes used by the teachers who obtained the general rule of the pattern, with respect to those who failed to generalize. The difficulties encountered lie mainly in the process to establish the pattern; they are associated with the observation of a global regularity between the data, the establishment of relationships between variables, and the abstraction of the general.
