Abstract: The present research aims to analyze the application of Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG 16) in the context of the Federal Judiciary Section of Maranhão (SJFMA), considering the relationship between the aspects of peace, conciliation, effectiveness and electrical efficiency, in light of the Strategic Planning, 2015-2020 cycle. In this sense, an exploratory study was developed, with a deductive method, based on a bibliographic-documentary survey, combined with the use of discourse analysis and case study techniques. The award granted by the National Council of Justice (CNJ) for good practice carried out at SJFMA is highlighted, in the 8th edition of the Conciliar é Legal Award, in 2017, reflecting the peace of SDG 16. It is revealed that SJFMA stands out in compliance with the electrical energy target in the 2015-2020 cycle, reverberating in the effectiveness of institutions based on SDG 16. Also noteworthy is the focus given to the historical-cultural aspect at SJFMA, due to its institutional culture, which values public management in light of Vygotsky's sociointeractionist theory. Data analysis reveals that SJFMA presents evidence of peace and effectiveness, aligned with SDG 16, denoting the meaning of excellence, based on Ausubel's theory of meaningful learning.
