DIAGNÓSTICO DAS COMUNIDADES RURAIS DIFUSAS PARA O DESENVOLVIMENTO SUSTENTÁVEL NA ÁREA DE INFLUÊNCIA DO CANAL DO SERTÃO ALAGOANO
A bacia hidrográfica do rio São
Francisco apresenta uma vasta variedade
do ponto de vista social, cultural, ambiental
e climático. No entanto, a presença de água
nas regiões semiáridas, onde os rios possuem
consideráveis volumes, a exemplo do São
Francisco, nos traz a falsa ideia de que a região
não sofre os efeitos das secas. Portanto, fazse necessário um estudo detalhado da região,
visando apresentar alternativas de melhoria
das condições de vida à população. Desta
forma, o presente estudo se insere como
uma ferramenta de fundamental importância
para o conhecimento das potencialidades
e limitações socioambientais do território,
possibilitando a implementação de ações
produtivas sustentáveis. Tem como objetivo
apresentar uma estratégia de desenvolvimento
hidroagrícola para as 97 comunidades rurais
difusas, localizadas nos municípios de Água
Branca, Delmiro Gouveia e Pariconha, nas
áreas de influência dos primeiros 65 km do
Canal do Sertão Alagoano, para à prosperidade
da região e de seus habitantes. Caracterizase por ser uma ferramenta de planejamento
para ações estruturantes e sustentáveis,
por meio do uso da água do canal e, assim,
promover a transformação sócio econômica de
aproximadamente 8 mil famílias que vivem na
área de abrangência do presente trabalho.

Abstract:
The hydrographic basin of the river
São Francisco offers a wide variety in terms of
social, environmental and climate. However, the
presence of water in semi-arid regions, where
rivers have considerable volumes, like the São
Francisco, brings us the false idea that the
region does not suffer the effects of droughts.
Therefore, it is necessary a detailed study of
the region, seeking alternatives to improve the
conditions of life of citizens. In this way, the
present study is inserted as a tool of fundamental
importance for the knowledge of the socioenvironmental potentials and limitations of the
territory, making possible the implementation of
sustainable productive actions. It aims to present
a strategy of hydro-agricultural development for
the 97 diffuse rural communities, located in the
municipalities of Agua Branca, Delmiro Gouveia
and Pariconha, in the areas of influence of the
first 65 km of the Sertão Alagoano Canal, for
the prosperity of the region and its population.
It is characterized by being a planning tool for
structuring and sustainable actions, through the
use of canal water and, thus, to promote the
socioeconomic transformation of approximately
8 thousand families living in the scope of this work.
