DESENVOLVIMENTO TERRITORIAL SUSTENTÁVEL: UMA ANÁLISE DO ASSENTAMENTO NOVA ESMERALDA DO TERRITÓRIO RURAL DOS CAMPOS DE CIMA DA SERRA - RS
O desenvolvimento territorial
sustentável abrange diversas formas de
colocar em prática a sustentabilidade. Neste
sentido, o objetivo deste trabalho é identificar e
contextualizar as principais percepções acerca
do desenvolvimento territorial sustentável do
assentamento Nova Esmeralda – Pinhal da
Serra/RS. O assentamento fica localizado no
Território Rural Campos de Cima da Serra e tem
como característica a presença de frutas nativas,
as quais são fontes alternativas de renda. Em
termos metodológicos, este trabalho utilizou de
uma pesquisa bibliográfica e estudo de caso. Os
resultados mostraram que diversas percepções,
como, a prática da economia solidária, a
geração de emprego e renda, a inclusão social,
a preservação do meio ambiente (flora e fauna
nativa), entre outras identificadas, contribuem
para o desenvolvimento territorial sustentável.
Sendo assim, as percepções atendem as três
dimensões do desenvolvimento sustentável e
serve de exemplo para outros territórios rurais,
para a promoção do desenvolvimento territorial
sustentável.

Abstract:
This paper investigates the main
perceptions about the sustainable territorial
development of the Nova Esmeralda - Pinhal
da Serra/RS settlement. This presents a case
study, based on a bibliographical research and
a field trip. The field trip happened in the rural
territory Campos de Cima da Serra, which has
as a characteristic the presence of native fauna
and flora in the region. The results showed that
diverse perceptions, as, the practice of solidarity
economy, the generation of employment and
income, social inclusion, preservation of the
environment (native flora and fauna), among others identified, contribute to sustainable
territorial development. Therefore, perceptions attend the three dimensions of
sustainable development and serve as an example for other rural territories, for the
promotion of sustainable territorial development.
