DESENVOLVIMENTO E AVALIAÇÃO FÍSICO-QUÍMICA E DA ATIVIDADE ANTIBACTERIANA DE GEL FITOCOSMÉTICO CONTENDO ÓLEO ESSENCIAL DE MANJERICÃO (Ocimum basilicum L.)
Fitocosmética é um segmento da ciência que se dedica ao estudo da ação e da aplicação de princípios ativos de origem vegetal com finalidade de higiene e estética. O óleo essencial de manjericão (Ocimum basilicum L.) tem destaque na literatura por diversas ações dentre elas a ação antimicrobiana frente a micro-organismos Gram-positivos e negativos. Como o óleo essencial puro não pode ser aplicado diretamente na pele o objetivo da pesquisa foi formular e avaliar fisicoquimicamente, bem como a atividade antibacteriana de um gel, contendo óleo essencial de manjericão. Dois óleos essenciais (OE) foram adquiridos de diferentes fabricantes, nomeados BE e PY. Eles foram incorporados em uma base gel aniônica nas concentrações de 0,2% para BE e de 0,5% para PY. Realizado o teste de pré-estabilidade em 21 dias e todas as amostras foram aprovadas. Na avaliação antibacteriana frente ao micro-organismo Staphylococcus aureus, todas as amostras mantiveram suas características estáveis em todas as condições do estudo. Pode-se constatar atividade antibacteriana frente ao micro-organismo Staphylococcus aureus de todas as amostras, sendo o OE puro BE com maior atividade inibitória frente ao micro-organismo do que o fabricante PY e o gel contendo OE BE 0,5 % apresentou um percentual maior de inibição.

Abstract:
Phytocosmetics is a science segment dedicated to study the action and application of an active ingredients from the plants, for the hygiene and aesthetics purpose. The basil essential oil (Ocimum basilicum L.) is highlighted in the literature for several actions, among them the antimicrobial action against Gram-positive and negative microorganisms. As the pure essential oil cannot be applied directly to the skin, the objective of the research was to formulate and evaluate physicochemically, as well as the antibacterial activity of a gel, containing basil essential oil. Two essential oils (OE) were purchased from different manufacturers, named BE and PY. They were incorporated into an anionic gel base at concentrations of 0.2% for BE and 0.5% for PY. The pre-stability test was performed in 21 days and all samples were approved. In the antibacterial evaluation against the Staphylococcus aureus microorganism, all samples maintained their stable characteristics in all study conditions. It can be seen antibacterial activity against the Staphylococcus aureus microorganism of all samples, with pure BE OE with greater inhibitory activity against the microorganism than the manufacturer PY and the gel containing 0.5% OE BE presented a percentage greater inhibition.
