• Abstract:

  After a surgical intervention it is common to see accumulation of interstitial space called edema, thanks to the contribution of the Vodder, nowadays it is common to see every day the use of Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) as a method in physiotherapy and in-hospital physical rehabilitation, however, the importance and benefits that it can provide are unknown. The aim of the present study is to visualize the efficacy of MLD treatment in patients with edema after pre and post-operative traumatic injury. The study shows that manual lymphatic drainage reduces pain and edema to a considerable extent in patients who were applied this technique of rehabilitation who presented pre and post-surgical edema in the area of traumatology in a general hospital of high specialty in the state of Tabasco.
