Abstract: This ongoing research, linked to the Professional Master's Program in Professional and Technological Education (ProfEPT), investigates the dynamics of the incorporation of popular culture within the context of Professional and Technological Education (EPT), through a case study of the extension project LiterAtos, developed at IFPE – Vitória de Santo Antão campus. The project explores literature in dialogue with popular cultural expressions from the Zona da Mata region of Pernambuco, through theater, music, and dance. This qualitative study seeks to understand the impacts of the initiative on students’ integral formation, based on the meanings attributed by former participants of the group. To deepen the understanding of the topic, a literature review was conducted, which generated the initial findings of the investigation. Questionnaires and interviews will be administered, along with document analysis. The data will be examined through the lens of Discourse Theory. The study aims to contribute to a broader understanding of the impacts of cultural projects on education and their effects on EPT.
