Abstract: The Instituto Federal do Norte de Minas Gerais (IFNMG) plays a crucial role in expanding professional and technological education in the Jequitinhonha, Mucuri, North, and Northwest regions of Minas Gerais. With 11 campuses and 130 distance education centers, IFNMG offers various educational programs, including technical courses, bachelor's degrees, and higher education in technology, serving over 23,439 students. This article presents a survey of programs, projects, and courses aimed at teacher education offered by IFNMG between 2018 and 2024. The institution provides 11 undergraduate teaching programs, 8 in-person and 3 online, focusing on training teachers for Basic Education. IFNMG has implemented policies and initiatives to strengthen both initial and continuing teacher education, such as the Institutional Scholarship Program for Teaching Initiation (PIBID), the Pedagogical Residency Program (RP), and partnerships with state and municipal schools for supervised internships. Additionally, IFNMG has introduced the Teacher Reception Program, which integrates new faculty members through a training course in Professional and Technological Education (EPT). Since 2018, IFNMG has been part of the Professional Master’s in National Network in Professional and Technological Education (ProfEPT), providing continuous education for faculty and fostering reflection on EPT. To enhance teacher training initiatives, IFNMG established the Continuous Training Laboratory in Teaching and Management of EPT (LabFor-EPT), aiming to integrate existing programs and seek new training opportunities. Thus, IFNMG demonstrates a strong commitment to teacher education by implementing programs, policies, and actions that promote teacher qualification and professional development, significantly contributing to the improvement of education in the region.
