CONTATO DE UM ACADÊMICO DE MEDICINA COM A PRÁTICA: OS PROJETOS DE EXTENSÃO NO APRENDIZADO MÉDICO
Durante a história da educação médica, de modo geral, prática e teoria foram valorizadas em momentos diferentes, culminando na união de seus reconhecimentos no século XX. Apesar disso, ainda há uma deficiência de atividades práticas nas formações acadêmicas médicas, cujas lacunas podem ser preenchidas por experiências práticas advindas de projetos de extensão. Este relato objetiva demonstrar a importância da participação de acadêmicos de Medicina em projetos de extensão. Foi realizado por meio de ação de promoção em saúde desenvolvida por uma Instituição de Ensino Superior e executada na região metropolitana de Curitiba-PR. A ação possibilitou o contato dos acadêmicos com a realidade vivenciada pela população atendida, a prática de conceitos apreendidos no decorrer da formação acadêmica e a aquisição de conhecimentos para o planejamento de futuras intervenções.

Abstract:
During history of medical training, practice and theory were valued during different moments, resulting in the union of their acknowledgement on the 20th century. Even though, there is still a lack of practical activities during medical training crating empty spaces of knowledge, which can be filled by practical experiences of extension projects. This relate focus on the demonstration of the importance of the participation on these projects and was accomplished on an action of health promotion of a Superior Education Institution and executed on the metropolitan region of Curitiba-PR. The practice made possible an approaching with the reality of that population, the training of learned concepts on medical training and the acquisition of knowledge required to plan future actions.
