CONSTRUÇÃO DA FEDERAÇÃO DE SINDICATOS DE TRABALHADORES EM UNIVERSIDADES PÚBLICAS NO BRASIL E A ARTICULAÇÃO PARA A CONSTRUÇÃO DA ENTIDADE INTERNACIONAL - CONTUA
Esse artigo pretente visitar os caminhos percorridos na construção da FASUBRA em 1978, e os que foram trilhados por representantes de Federações de Trabalhadores em Universidades na construção da Confederação dos Trabalhadores e Trabalhadoras das Universidades das Américas – CONTUA em 2009. Sob o jugo dos governos totalitários na maioria dos países da América do Sul nos anos 1970 e 1980, com prisões mortes e milhares de desaparecidos, fatores que dificultaram a organização dos trabalhadores; com a derrocada desses governos, proporcionou-se a reorganização das entidades sindicais, os trabalhadores em universidades públicas iniciam aproximação com as entidades irmãs com o objetivo de construir organismos que representassem os trabalhadores/as em universidades públicas da América Latina. Foram realizados vários encontros que proporcionaram a consolidação da carta de princípios para a fundação da CONTUA, com principal lema: Em defesa da educação pública, como um direito humano fundamental e um instrumento de transformação social.

Abstract:
This article intends to visit the paths walked in the construction of FASUBRA in 1978, and those walked by representatives of Federations of University Workers in the construction of the Confederation of University Workers of the Americas - CONTUA in 2009. Under the yoke of totalitarian governments in most South American countries in the 1970s and 1980s, with imprisonments, deaths and thousands of disappeared people, factors that hindered the organization of workers. With the fall of these governments, the reorganization of the unions took place and the workers in public universities began to approach their sister organizations with the objective of building organizations that would represent the workers in public universities in Latin America. Several meetings were held, which led to the consolidation of the letter of principles for the foundation of CONTUA, with the main motto: In defense of public education as a fundamental human right and an instrument of social transformation.
