Abstract: This study aims to promote an interaction between the literary, historiographic and aesthetic elements present in Elomar Figueira Mello's musical production. The historical-cultural context is analyzed, highlighting as a result the obscuring of the legacy of Moorish culture in the work examined. Moorish culture is understood as an Afro-Berber cultural mosaic from North Africa, which permeated Northeast Brazil through European influence, transforming over the centuries. The theoretical discussion and critical analysis of Elomar's music are explored from the perspective of thinkers such as Jacques Rancière, Gilles Deleuze, Nietzsche, Ariano Suassuna, Câmara Cascudo and Luis Soler, intertwining history, philosophy, literature and music. The research assumes that Elomar's work is immersed in a network of practices and symbolism, which reflect and disseminate themes from the Moorish universe. Among these cultural manifestations, the figure of the singer stands out, who tells his stories in verse; the narratives that are based on the oral tradition of ancient troubadours to the sound of the viola, whose sound portrays the daily life of the backlands; in addition to the cordel and the sudden, which are configured as expressions of a rhythmic, rhymed and sung oral literature.
