CONCEPÇÕES DOS PROFISSIONAIS DE SAÚDE SOBRE TUBERCULOSE NA CIDADE DE SÃO GONÇALO, RIO DE JANEIRO
A tuberculose é uma doença que ainda acomete um grande número de pessoas sendo responsável por um alto índice de mortalidade populacional. Logo, deve ser considerada um evidente problema de saúde pública. Neste trabalho, abordou-se a concepção dos profissionais de saúde para avaliar se as informações transmitidas à população estão sendo relevantes para prevenção e controle da tuberculose, assim como avaliar se os profissionais estão preparados para a sua própria segurança no ambiente hospitalar em relação à tuberculose. O presente estudo constatou que profissionais da saúde de São Gonçalo ainda não têm total conhecimento sobre as diversas formas de prevenção e controle da tuberculose, por isso, o município precisa de ações para atualização dos conhecimentos relativos à doença a fim de que sejam intensificados a prevenção e controle da tuberculose.

Abstract:
Tuberculosis is a disease that still affects a large number of people and is responsible for a high rate of population mortality. Therefore, it must be considered an evident public health problem. In this work, the conception of health professionals was approached to assess whether the information transmitted to the population is relevant for the prevention and control of tuberculosis, as well as to evaluate whether the professionals are prepared for their own safety in the hospital environment in relation to tuberculosis. The present study found that health professionals in São Gonçalo still do not have full knowledge about the different forms of prevention and control of tuberculosis, therefore, the municipality needs an update of the knowledge related to the disease so that prevention and control of the disease are intensified.
