CONCEITOS EM SAÚDE COLETIVA E MEDICINA: UMA ABORDAGEM INTEGRADA
Até a década de 70, a maior parte do país residia em áreas consideradas rurais, havendo uma mudança nesse cenário somente após o processo de transição urbana que se potencializou pela industrialização do país. Para uma melhor compreensão do que é área urbana e rural, conceituaremos cada um segundo o Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE). No âmbito da Saúde Coletiva, a gestão em saúde na Atenção Básica se faz de modo a elencar como o gerenciamento nesse nível de atenção pode contribuir para que os pacientes recebam uma assistência adequada e de qualidade. Assim, é importante que se reconheça como a Rede de Atenção à Saúde (RAS), que tem a Atenção Primária como ponto central, organiza-se. Epidemia e endemia são conceitos da área da Epidemiologia e Saúde Coletiva que são frequentemente confundidos por possuírem semelhanças tanto em suas grafias como também em seus conceitos. No entanto, a compreensão e distinção de cada um deles é de fundamental importância para o entendimento do quadro de saúde da população e para o benefício do mesmo. O conceito de Vigilância em Saúde (VS) é muito abrangente e complexo, indo muito além do sentido somente de “vigiar” algo. A VS foi criada no intuito de unir todos os tipos de vigilância, promovendo uma articulação entre elas e favorecendo a atuação de cada uma, visto que todas devem trabalhar em conjunto para serem efetivas. Portanto, a VS é muito mais do que uma simples some dos tipos de vigilâncias existentes. Dentre os tipos de vigilância, destaca-se a Vigilância Sanitária, a Vigilância Epidemiológica e a Vigilância Ambiental.

Abstract:
Until the 1970s, most of the country resided in areas considered rural, with a change in this scenario only after the urban transition process that was strengthened by the country's industrialization. For a better understanding of what is urban and rural area, we will conceptualize each one according to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). In the scope of Collective Health, health management in Primary Care is done in order to list how management at this level of care can contribute so that patients receive adequate and quality care. Thus, it is important to recognize how the Health Care Network (RAS), which has Primary Care as its central point, is organized. Epidemics and endemics are concepts in the field of Epidemiology and Collective Health that are often confused because they have similarities both in their spellings and in their concepts. However, the understanding and distinction of each one of them is of fundamental importance for the understanding of the population's health condition and for the benefit of it. The concept of Health Surveillance (VS) is very comprehensive and complex, going far beyond the meaning of just “watching” something. VS was created in order to unite all types of surveillance, promoting an articulation between them and favoring the performance of each one, since all must work together to be effective. Therefore, VS is much more than just a few of the types of surveillance available. Among the types of surveillance, Health Surveillance, Epidemiological Surveillance and Environmental Surveillance stand out.
