CARACTERÍSTICAS SOCIODEMOGRÁFICAS Y EL CUADRO CLÍNICO: PRINCIPALES AFECTACIONES NEUROLÓGICAS Y NEUROPSICOLÓGICAS DE JÓVENES CON TCE INGRESADOS EN HOSPITAL GENERAL DE HUAMBO, ANGOLA
La presente investigación consistió en un estudio transversal descriptivo, con el objetivo de precisar las características sociodemográficas y el cuadro clínico. Se hace énfasis en las principales afectaciones neurológicas y neuropsicológicas de jóvenes con TCE ingresados en el Hospital General de Huambo, Angola, en el período de 1 de julio a 31 de diciembre de 2012. El estudio se desarrolló en la base del paradigma cuantitativo, en la muestra participaron 156 pacientes a quienes se les determinaron las características fundamentales de los traumatismos craneoencefálicos y sus secuelas neuropsicológicas. El análisis estadístico de los datos obtenidos en la muestra, demostró el predominio de jóvenes varones, entre los 18 y 23 años de edad, con nivel escolar de secundaria básica, pertenecientes a zonas suburbanas, que estudian o trabajan. Se observó un número significativo de accidentes con motocicletas, con cifras elevadas de reincidencias y consumo de alcohol. Predominaron limitaciones neuropsicológicas para el cálculo, análisis de semejanza y comprensión, así como niveles altos de ansiedad y depresión como estado.

Abstract:
The investigation consisted on a descriptive and transversal study, with the objective of detailing the sociodemographic characterístics and the clinical picture. Enphasis was made in the main neuropsicological and neurological affectations of Young people with traumatic brain injury hospitalized in the general hospital of Humbo, Angola, from july to december 2012. This study was made using as a base the quantitative paradigm, for the sample, 156 patients were used, and ickey more found the main characteristics of the traumatic brain injury and its neuropsicological sequelae. The statistic analysis of the date shoued the prevalence of Young adults between 18 to 23 years old, with a junior high school level that live in the suburbs, and that study or work. It was observed a significant number of motorcycle accidents which are recurrent as igual as alcohol cosumption. In these patients remained neuropsychological limitations for math, analysis, comprehension, and high levels of anxiety and depression.
