CARACTERÍSTICAS ANATÔMICAS RELACIONADAS A UMA INTUBAÇÃO DIFÍCIL EM PACIENTES PRÉ-OPERATÓRIOS
A intubação difícil é definida como processo pelo qual o profissional experiente apresenta mais de três tentativas ao realizar a intubação traqueal (IT) no paciente ou que a tentativa de IT dure mais que 10 minutos. Sabe-se também que essa dificuldade ocorre em cerca de 17% de todos os pacientes pré-operatórios. Portanto, essa revisão bibliográfica tem como objetivo explanar fatores de risco que podem corroborar para objeção dessa prática, bem como discorrer sobre métodos de identificação da IT difícil no momento de pré-operatório. Além disso, esse artigo dedica-se a explicar as opções de manejo adequado existentes para esses pacientes.

Abstract:
Difficult intubation is defined as the process by which the experienced professional makes more than three attempts when performing tracheal intubation (TI) on the patient or that the attempt at TI lasts more than 10 minutes. It is also known that this difficulty occurs in about 17% of all preoperative patients. Therefore, this bibliographic review aims to explain risk factors that can corroborate for the objection of this practice, as well as to discuss methods for identifying difficult IT in the preoperative period. In addition, this article is dedicated to explaining the appropriate management options that exist for these patients.
