Abstract: This paper discusses the Technology and Education theme and was written intending to organize theoretical and practical insights that contribute to gathering and explaining ways of connecting digital technologies to the teaching and learning process. The paper proposes a reflection on pedagogical actions and methodological instruments based on historical aspects of the current context of technology-education relationship (principles, mediation, organization). To achieve this, some aspects of digital culture, the use of active methodologies and how we learn are discussed with variable degrees of emphasis. During the paper creation, constructive elements were perceived, such as: the construction of links between the “new” and “old” elements; the meaning of structure and conjuncture; school planning; teaching work reconfiguration and gradual stages of incorporating technology into classes. The main theme uses bibliographical research for conceptual exploration, including queries in specific virtual locations in an attempt to direct a qualitative approach to analyze theories in focus and their practical implications. The main findings of this study highlight the connections between history and current events in the technology-education relationship and identify contemporary issues within the Brazilian educational system that, while relevant, remain distant from technology applied to education as a physical possibility of social manifestation of discourse that shapes reality.
