#BIORECICLE: GERAÇÃO DE ENERGIA E AÇÕES SUSTENTÁVEIS
A utilização de óleos e gorduras residuais de indústrias e comércios ganham cada vez mais espaço, não só por ser uma biomassa de baixo custo; mas, principalmente, por referir-se a um reaproveitamento de efluentes, o que proporciona a redução dos impactos ambientais e estimula o desenvolvimento de tecnologias para geração de energia limpa. Assim, muitos são os desafios que cercam esse tema, porém a conscientização da população sobre os problemas do descarte incorreto de óleos e gorduras em pias e solo, é um dos mais preocupantes. Dessa forma, surge o projeto #BIORECICLE, que tem entre suas diferentes ações e objetivos a educação ambiental como processo de formação de estudantes do ensino básico, comunidade local e acadêmicos preocupados com os problemas ambientais. Além disso, tem-se a coleta de óleos e gorduras residuais, destinação adequada e possibilidade de uso para geração de energia. Para tanto, a coleta é realizada por meio de uma parceria com uma empresa privada, que recolhe e usa uma parte desse resíduo na produção de biodiesel, enquanto a outra é usada na Universidade para ensino e extensão através de oficinas, palestras e eventos públicos e em pesquisa no laboratório do Grupo de Pesquisa, Ensino e Extensão em Energia e Meio Ambiente (Bio&Energia). Por fim, as diversas ações realizadas visaram fomentar à participação e à formação de meninas e mulheres para as carreiras de engenharias.

Abstract:
The use of residual oils and fats from industries and businesses are gaining increasingly space, not only for being a low-cost biomass, but mainly for referring a reuse of effluents, which provides the reduction of environmental impacts and stimulates the development of technologies for a clean energy generation. Thus, there are many challenges surrounding this issue, however the population's awareness about the problems of incorrect disposal of oils and grease in sinks and soil is one of the most worrying. Therefore, the #BIORECICLE project arises, which has among its different actions and objectives in environmental education as a training process for elementary school students, local community and academics concerned about environmental problems. Besides this, there is also the collection of residual oils and fats, an adequate destination, and the possibility of using them to generate energy. For this, the collection is done through a partnership with a private company, which collects and utilizes part of this residue for biodiesel production, while the other part is used at the University for teaching and extension through workshops, lectures, and public events and in research at the laboratory of the Group for Research, Teaching and Extension in Energy and Environment (Bio&Energia). Finally, the diverse actions carried out, were also aimed at encouraging the participation and training of girls and women in engineering careers.
