BACIAS HIDROGRÁFICAS TRANSFRONTEIRIÇAS: AS TRANSFORMAÇÕES FOMENTADAS PELO SISTEMA AGROPECUÁRIO CONTEMPORÂNEO SOBRE AS PAISAGENS NATURAIS
Quando olhamos para a espaço rural da América do Sul e em especial, Brasil e Uruguai, percebemos as mudanças alavancadas pelo modelo do agronegócio que inicia na segunda metade do Século XX e intensificam-se nas últimas décadas. Essas transformações podem ser observadas de maneira multidimensional, através das perspectivas das dimensões biofísica, social, econômica e política e culminam em mudanças na paisagem e impactos profundos no meio ambiente que transcendem os limites nacionais. Com isso, percebe-se a necessidade de ações integradas entre os países sul-americanos e a gestão integrada de bacias hidrográficas pode ser a ferramenta para isso. A partir desse entendimento, esse texto objetiva discutir as transformações fomentadas pelo sistema agropecuário contemporâneo sobre as paisagens naturais, com ênfase na bacia hidrográfica transfronteiriça do Rio Quaraí ou Río Cuareím, entre Brasil e Uruguai. Para tal, utiliza-se pesquisa bibliográfica e relato de estudos de campo.

Abstract:
When we look at rural space in South America, in particular Brazil and Uruguay, we see the changes leveraged by the agribusiness model that started in the second half of the 20th century and has been intensified in recent decades. These transformations can be observed in a multidimensional way, through the perspectives of the biophysical, social, economic and political dimensions and culminate in changes in the landscape and deep impacts on the environment that transcend national limits. As a result, there is a need for integrated actions between South American countries and whatersheds integrated management can be the instrument for this. Based on this understanding, this text aims to discuss the transformations fostered by the contemporary agricultural system on natural landscapes, with an emphasis on the cross-border whatershed of the Quaraí River (or Cuareím River), between Brazil and Uruguay. For this, bibliographic research and report of field studies are used.
