AVALIAÇÃO FUNCIONAL DO PAVIMENTO FLEXÍVEL: ESTUDO DE CASO - TRECHO DA RODOVIA RN-016
Desde o início da humanidade o homem tem a necessidade de se deslocar
para outras regiões. Com isso, desenvolveu-se a construção de estradas para que
esses deslocamentos fossem possíveis. Com o crescimento urbano, esse processo
construtivo evoluiu e tornou-se necessário grandes investimentos em infraestrutura.
Entretanto, o que se observa hoje são rodovias deterioradas, repletas de problemas
de execução e sem manutenção. Diante da problemática abordada, o objetivo deste
trabalho é realizar uma avaliação funcional de um trecho da rodovia RN- 016 que
liga os pontos extremos da cidade de Assu –RN e possui um tráfego intenso de
veículos. Para a concretização do estudo, foi realizado uma análise visual das
patologias e registros fotográficos, associado ao estudo da literatura da área. A partir
das avaliações constatou-se a deficiência na sinalização vertical e horizontal,
ausência de obras complementares, ação da cadeia de consequências e a presença
de alguns defeitos, como: fendas, desgaste da superfícies e panelas. Com os
resultados obtidos pode-se concluir que o pavimento avaliado funcionalmente
encontra-se seriamente comprometido e sem manutenção periódica por parte do
gestor estadual, o que afeta diretamente as condições de desempenho, segurança
e conforto ao trafegar.

Abstract:
Since the beginning of mankind, man had the need to move from one to
another regions. Thus, the construction of roads had been developed so that these
movements were possible. With urban growth, this constructive process has evolved
and large investments in infrastructure have become necessary. However, the
current state is related to deteriorated roads, full of problems of execution and with
poor maintenance. In view of the problem addressed, the objective of this work is to
carry out a functional evaluation of a section of the RN-016 highway that connects
the extreme points of the city of Assu-RN and has an intense traffic of vehicles. For
accomplishing the objective of this study, visual analysis of the pathologies and
photographic records were carried out, associated to the study of the related
literature. Among the observations, deficiency in vertical and horizontal signaling was
observed, absence of complementary works, action of the knock-on effect and the
presence of some defects, such as: cracks, wearing of surfaces and holes. With the
obtained results, it can be concluded that the evaluated pavement is seriously
compromised and without proper periodic maintenance by the state manager, which
directly affects the conditions of performance, safety and comfort.
