AVALIAÇÃO DO CONHECIMENTO DA POPULAÇÃO DO MUNICÍPIO DE ALTAMIRA-PA SOBRE A DOENÇA DE ALZHEIMER
Introdução: A doença de Alzheimer se enquadra com uma doença crônico-degenerativas, e em geral os idosos afetados sofrem de graves esquecimentos e depressão pelo comprometimento do cérebro. Objetivos: Sensibilizar a população do município de Altamira-PA, através de educação em saúde acerca da identificação e prevenção da doença de Alzheimer. Material e Métodos: Trata-se de um projeto de pesquisa de opinião e intervencionista com 70 indivíduos de diferentes faixas etárias realizado na Orla do município de Altamira. Foram coletadas informações sociodemográficas, em seguida realizado um questionário e uma palestra acerca da doença neurodegenerativa. Resultados: Dos 70 Indivíduos entrevistados, a maioria respondeu que sabiam o que é a doença do Alzheimer. Entre os entrevistados abaixo de 30 anos (100%), 30 – 50 anos (78,9 %) e acima de 50 anos (82,4 %), responderam que possui algum conhecimento sobre a doença. Analisando a escolaridade: ensino fundamental não soube informar sobre a patologia abordada (81,8%) e informaram outras definições sobre o assunto (18,2%); ensino médio souberam definir a patologia (39,3%), não souberam informar sobre a doença (14,3%) e definiram como outras informações (46,4%); ensino superior souberam definir como doença neurodegenerativa progressiva (66,7%), não souberam informar (13,3%) e outras definições (20%). Em relação aos principais sintomas da doença de Alzheimer, perda de memória (66,7%); agitação/irritação (8,7%) e confusão mental (7,3%). Sobre a prevenção da doença a maioria (66,6%) dos entrevistados informaram como a atividade física e mental, sendo que 65,2% sabiam a qual profissional procurar (neurologista e geriatra). Quase a metade dos entrevistados não sabem que o SUS oferece o tratamento para o Alzheimer. Conclusão: As evidências sugerem que a população do município de Altamira ainda apresenta um pequeno desconhecimento sobre a doença de Alzheimer, e a educação em saúde se mostrou bastante eficiente na sensibilização da população.

Abstract:
Introduction: Alzheimer's disease fits within a chronic-degenerative disease. In general, the affected elderly suffer from severe forgetfulness and depression due to the impairment of the brain. Objective: To sensitize the population of Altamira-PA, through health education about the identification and prevention of Alzheimer's disease. Material and Methods: This is an opinion and interventionist research project with 70 individuals from different age groups carried out on the edge of the municipality of Altamira. Sociodemographic information was collected, followed by a questionnaire and a lecture about the neurodegenerative disease. Results: From 70 people interviewed, most answered that they knew what Alzheimer's disease is. The results of the interviewees were as follows: under 30 years old (100%), 30 - 50 years old (78.9%) and over 50 years old (82.4%). The answers show all age groups have some knowledge about the disease. Analyzing Schooling: Students from elementary school did not know how to inform about the pathology addressed (81.8%) and knew other definitions on the subject (18.2%); High school students that could define the pathology (39.3%), but some did not know information about the disease (14.3%) and others defined it based on other information (46.4%); Higher education students were able to define progressive neurodegenerative disease (66.7%), did not know any information (13.3%) and 20% had other definitions. The main symptoms of Alzheimer's disease, memory loss (66.7%); agitation/irritation (8.7%) and mental confusion (7.3%). Prevention of the disease: Majority (66.6%) of the interviewees knew about physical and mental activity, with 65.2% knowing which professional to look for (neurologist and geriatrician). Almost half of the respondents are unaware that SUS offers treatment for Alzheimer's. Conclusion: Evidence suggests that the population of the municipality of Altamira still has a lack of knowledge regarding Alzheimer's disease, and health education has proved very effective in raising awareness among the population.
