AVALIAÇÃO DE CONHECIMENTO DOS FATORES DE RISCOS E FOTOEXPOSIÇÃOPARA CÂNCER DE PELE EM ESTUDANTES DE UMA FACULDADE DE TERESINA (PI)
O câncer de pele apresenta-se atualmente como a neoplasia maligna mais comum no mundo, sendo definido por um crescimento anormal e descontrolado das células que compõem a pele. Desta forma, objetiva-se analisar os fatores de risco e fotoexposição para o câncer de pele em uma faculdade de Teresina (PI). Trata-se de um estudo observacional, descritivo, de abordagem quantitativa, transversal, realizada com 60 estudantes de engenharia civil da Facid/Wyden. Os resultados revelaram que a população do estudo foi composta por adultos jovens, na faixa etária média de 18-26 anos, sendo que 70% possuíam entre 18-20 anos, 80% era do sexo masculino, 40% tinham pele branca e 40% morena. Com relação aos hábitos de exposição solar, 100% dos estudantes dizem não fazer bronzeamento artificial, 90% afirmam conhecer os danos e consequências da exposição solar, mas mesmo assim não fazem os devidos cuidados, 30% dos entrevistados se expõem ao sol diariamente, destes 73% não utilizam proteção adequada. Dos entrevistados, 60% utilizam filtro solar às vezes, 15% utilizam diariamente e 25% nunca utilizam, sendo o seu uso mais comum nas mulheres e em 53% dos casos é utilizado por auto prescrição, sem indicação médica. Em relação aos métodos de fotoproteção, dos que utilizam, 80% fazem uso de filtro solar e roupas adequadas, 15% utilizam boné ou chapéu e 5% usa óculos de sol. Cerca de 80% dos entrevistados afirmam história prévia de queimadura solar e nenhum referiu caso de câncer de pele na família.

Abstract:
Skin cancer is currently the most common malignancy in the world, being defined by an abnormal and uncontrolled growth of the cells that make up the skin. Thus, the objective is to analyze the risk and photoexposure factors for skin cancer at a college in Teresina (PI). This is an observational, descriptive study, with a quantitative, transversal approach, carried out with 60 civil engineering students from Facid / Wyden. The results revealed that the study population sun exposure habits, 100% of students say they do not tan, 90% say they know the damage and consequences of sun exposure, but still do not do the proper care, 30% of respondents expose themselves to the sun daily, of these 73% do not use adequate protection. Of the interviewees, 60% use sunscreen sometimes, 15% use it daily and 25% never use it, being its most common use in women and in 53% of cases it is used by self-prescription, without medical indication. Regarding the photoprotection methods, 80% of them use sunscreen and suitable clothes, 15% use a cap or hat and 5% wear sunglasses. About 80% of the interviewees affirm a previous history of sunburn and none reported a case of skin cancer in the family.
