AVALIAÇÃO DA ÁREA DE DISPOSIÇÃO FINAL DE RESÍDUOS SÓLIDOS URBANOS DE CONTAGEM – MG COM BASE NO ÍNDICE IQR
O Crescimento populacional vem aumentando os problemas relacionados ao descarte incorreto dos resíduos sólidos urbanos, muitos dos danos ambientais causados pela má gestão dos resíduos trazem graves problemas a sociedade, como a contaminação dos lençóis freáticos prejudicando o uso de água e a transmissão de doenças relacionadas a falta de saneamento básico. Tendo em vista esses e outros problemas relacionados ao descarte incorreto dos resíduos sólidos urbanos, a utilização de aterros sanitários no Brasil, se impõe como uma das formas mais adequadas para a disposição final desses resíduos. Diante disso este trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar o aterro municipal de Contagem – MG, utilizando o índice de qualidade de aterro (IQR) desenvolvido pela Cetesb. Ao aplicar o questionário, o aterro obteve nota IQR= 9,7, o que indica que este está em condições operacionais adequadas. Importante ressaltar que mais analises são necessárias para obter melhores resultados.

Abstract:
The population growth has been increasing the problems related to the incorrect disposal of urban solid waste, many of the environmental damages caused by poor waste management brings serious problems to communnity Given that and other problems related to the incorrect disposal of urban solid waste, the use of sanitary landfills in Brazil is imposed as one of the most appropriate ways for the final disposal of this waste. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the municipal landfill of Contagem - MG, using the landfill quality index (IQR) developed by Cetesb. By applying the questionnaire, the landfill obtained an IQR score of 9.7, indicating that it is in adequate operational conditions. It is important to emphasize that further analysis is necessary to obtain better results.
