Abstract: Sexual violence against children and adolescents remains a critical public health problem in Brazil, with high recent reporting rates and characteristics that challenge comprehensive protection, such as the greater victimization of girls and the frequent occurrence of abuse within close interpersonal relationships, in addition to significant psychosocial and biological impacts. In light of Law No. 13,431/2017, child sexual violence encompasses multiple forms of violation and requires a qualified intersectoral response. This chapter discusses how demanding working conditions, gaps in professional training, the absence of clear procedures, and weaknesses in network-based practice may compromise institutional care and referral processes, increasing the risk of revictimization and emotional burden among professionals. Grounded in Social Cognitive Theory, it is argued that the assessment of self-efficacy (and, when applicable, collective efficacy) can serve as a strategic indicator of technical preparedness, institutional support, and training needs, thereby contributing to the improvement of professional practices and public policies. The analysis is based on a bibliographic review of academic articles, epidemiological bulletins, legislation, and official Brazilian documents, and highlights intervention pathways grounded in mastery experiences, modeling, verbal persuasion, and emotional regulation in the workplace.
