ASSISTÊNCIA DE ENFERMAGEM À CRIANÇAS COM EPILEPSIA: REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA DA LITERATURA
Objetivo Geral: Compreender as possibilidades de cuidado da equipe de
enfermagem frente a crianças com diagnóstico de epilepsia. Objetivos específicos: Descrever
as dificuldades e/ou barreiras no cuidado a crianças com epilepsia; descrever as práticas
exitosas no cuidado de enfermagem a crianças com epilepsia; compreender as repercussões
da epilepsia sob a perspectiva das crianças diagnosticadas.
Método: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, constituída de busca na base de
dados PUBMED no período compreendido entre janeiro e maio de 2022. Utilizando os
descritores: criança, epilepsia e enfermagem. Foram incluídos artigos originais disponíveis na
íntegra no formato online, no idioma em português e inglês, publicados nos últimos dezoito
anos. O conteúdo dos artigos foi analisado a partir da análise temática. Resultados: Foram
identificados 418 artigos a partir da leitura do título e resumo. Após leitura do texto completo e
aplicado os critérios de inclusão foram pré-selecionados 18 artigos. Depois de uma leitura mais
criteriosa, considerando o objetivo do estudo, 8 artigos foram selecionados para a análise.
Conclusão: Foi concluído que, a assistência de enfermagem para com as crianças que tem
epilepsia e passam por tratamento ou ainda estão em fase de descoberta da patologia, nem
sempre está devidamente preparada para lidar com os sentimentos e emoções da criança e de
seus familiares, portanto este trabalho trouxe fundamentações onde pode-se observar os ideais
caminhos a serem percorridos para que a jornada frente ao processo da patologia seja mais
tranquilo física e emocionalmente para a criança, e ao mesmo tempo a família tenha suporte
por parte da equipe multidisciplinar.

Abstract:
General Objective: To understand the possibilities of care provided by the nursing
team to children diagnosed with epilepsy. Specific objectives: To describe the difficulties
and/or barriers in the care of children with epilepsy; to describe successful practices in nursing
care for children with epilepsy; to understand the repercussions of epilepsy from the perspective
of diagnosed children. Method: This is an integrative literature review, consisting of a search in
the PUBMED database in the period between January and May 2022. Using the descriptors:
child, epilepsy and nursing. Original articles available in full in online format, in Portuguese and
English, published in the last eighteen years were included. The content of the articles was
analyzed based on thematic analysis. Results: 418 articles were identified after reading the title
and abstract. After reading the full text and applying the inclusion criteria, 18 articles were
pre-selected. After a more careful reading, considering the objective of the study, 8 articles were
selected for analysis. Conclusion: It was concluded that nursing care for children who have
epilepsy and are undergoing treatment or are still in the discovery phase of the pathology, is not
always properly prepared to deal with the feelings and emotions of the child and their families,
therefore, this work brought foundations where one can observe the ideal paths to be followed
so that the journey towards the pathology process is more peaceful physically and emotionally
for the child, and at the same time the family has support from the multidisciplinary team.
