ASSÉDIO SEXUAL: A IMPORTÂNCIA DO MOVIMENTO #METOO E AS SUAS IMPLICAÇÕES
Este artigo busca explicar a origem de um dos principais movimentos recentes em defesa das mulheres e em detrimento do abuso sexual, bem como a dinâmica que levou o levou a ser global, utilizando o Twitter como plataforma. O #MeToo, possibilitou que diversas mulheres ao redor do mundo, fossem capazes de denunciar situações de abuso e assédio sexual das quais foram vítimas ao longo dos anos. Embora pareça uma questão simples, em 97% dos casos, as mulheres vitimas de assédio sexual, não chegam a fazer uma denúncia formal, temendo principalmente serem ridicularizadas ou desacreditadas. O movimento #MeToo, mostrou que estas mulheres não estão sozinhas e que os casos de abuso sexual estão mais presentes na sociedade do que imaginamos. Ao longo deste artigo, será apresentado a origem do movimento, bem como um breve panorama do assédio sexual no Brasil, procurando trazer para a discursão a importância da temática. Ao final, foi buscamos entender o impacto do movimento além do mundo virtual.

Abstract:
This article seeks to explain the origin of one of the main recent movements in defense of women and against sexual abuse, as well as the dynamics that led it to go global, using Twitter as a platform. #MeToo has made it possible for many women around the world to be able to report situations of sexual abuse and harassment that they have been victims of over the years. Although it seems like a simple matter, in 97% of cases, women victims of sexual harassment, do not make a formal complaint, mainly fearing being ridiculed or discredited. The #MeToo movement showed that these women are not alone and that cases of sexual abuse are more present in society than we imagine. Throughout this article, the origin of the movement will be presented, as well as a brief overview of sexual harassment in Brazil, seeking to bring to the discussion the importance of the theme. In the end, we sought to understand the impact of the movement beyond the virtual world.
