ASPECTOS EPIDEMIOLÓGICOS DA LEISHMANIOSE VISCERAL NO ESTADO DO PIAUÍ NO PERÍODO DE 2015 A 2018
Objetivo: Descrever os aspectos epidemiológicos da Leishmaniose Visceral no Estado do Piauí no período de 2015 a 2018. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, retrospectivo, de abordagem quantitativa, no qual foram utilizados os dados disponíveis sobre os casos de Leishmaniose Visceral registrados no Sistema Nacional de Notificações e Agravos, do Ministério da Saúde, no Estado do Piauí, no período de 2015 a 2018. Resultados: No período estudado foram notificados 862 casos confirmados de Leishmaniose Visceral no Piauí, sendo o maior número de caso registrados no ano de 2017. A maior parte dos casos, em termo de microrregião foram registrados em Teresina, e no Baixo Parnaíba Piauiense, sendo a menor parte, registrada em Alto Parnaíba, Pio IX e em Valença. Percebeu-se que essa doença ocorre em qualquer idade, porém há maior prevalência nas faixas etárias de 20 a 39 anos, 1 a 4 anos e 40 a 59 anos, sendo as faixas etárias maiores de 60 anos, as menos acometidas. Dentre as raças analisadas, a raça parda foi a predominante, e entre os sexos observados, o masculino possuiu maior prevalência em relação ao sexo feminino. Segundo o grau de escolaridade, houve maior ocorrência em indivíduos da 5º a 8º série incompleta e ensino fundamental completo. Conclusão: No período estudado, observou-se a alta prevalência de Leishmaniose Visceral no Estado do Piauí, demonstrando a necessidade de profissionais capacitados e de fatores operacionais disponíveis para que as medidas de prevenção e controle dessa doença preconizadas pelo Ministério da Saúde sejam efetivadas nos municípios. Além disso, mais estudos para análise dos casos notificados são importantes para o planejamento das ações de controle.

Abstract:
Objective: To describe the epidemiological aspect of Visceral Leishmaniasis in the State of Piauí from 2015 to 2018. Methodology: This is a descriptive, retrospective study with a quantitative approach, in which the available data on the cases of registered Visceral Leishmaniasis were used in the National System of Notifications and Diseases, of the Ministry of Health, in the State of Piauí, in the period from 2015 to 2018. Results: In the period studied, 862 confirmed cases of Visceral Leishmaniasis in Piauí were reported, with the highest number of cases registered in the year de 2017. Most of the cases, in terms of microregion, were registered in Teresina, and in Baixo Parnaíba Piauiense, the smallest part being registered in Alto Parnaíba, Pio IX and in Valença. It was noticed that this disease occurs at any age, but there is a higher prevalence in the age groups of 20 to 39 years, 1 to 4 years and 40 to 59 years, with the age groups older than 60 years, the least affected. Among the races analyzed, the brown race was the predominant one, and among the observed genders, the male had a higher prevalence in relation to the female sex. According to the level of education, there was a higher occurrence in individuals from the 5th to the 8th grade incomplete and complete elementary school. Conclusion: During the studied period, there was a high prevalence of Visceral Leishmaniasis in the State of Piauí, demonstrating the need for trained professionals and available operational factors so that the measures for the prevention and control of this disease recommended by the Ministry of Health are implemented in the municipalities. In addition, further studies to analyze notified cases are important for planning control actions.
