Abstract:
The School of Occupational Therapy at the University of Santiago de Chile has a strong orientation towards Linking with the Environment, this being highly relevant for the development of our educational proposal in both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Having competed and obtained the support of the Vice-Rector for Linking with the Environment through the VIME Fund 2018 offered us an invaluable opportunity to generate experiences of practice and reflection in community spaces.
The project "Learning plus service: experiences of integrated practices in Occupational Therapy" arises motivated by the experience of the Occupational Therapy career, in the subject of integrated practice II of the year 2017, corresponding to the second year of training, based on needs that are raised in three practice spaces, namely: Center for Stimulation, Development and Rehabilitation Therapies (CEDET) in Maipú, Santa Cruz Parish in Los Nogales, Central Station and Industrial Hardware High School, in the commune of San Bernardo It is part of the training line of Integrated Practices, which take students from 1st to 4th year of the degree, favoring that students and the community (institutions, work teams, families, social organizations) have a systematic linkage through actions that contributed to the joint creation of knowledge and improvements in the well-being and quality of life of children, young people and their families with various psychosocial problems.
