Abstract: Meaningful learning is configured as a teaching method aimed at promoting a deep and lasting understanding of content, going beyond the mere mechanism of memorizing information. The present research addresses the contributions of pedagogical practices of meaningful learning based on the work of Ausubel, Patto, and Freire. It is a field research linked to an intervention project. The research aimed to understand the benefits of pedagogical practices of meaningful learning for student education. Twenty students from a technical school in Alagoas participated in the study. Data collection was conducted using discussion circles, dynamics, games, and a documentary. For data analysis, participant observation and a field diary were used. The results showed that the activities developed by the project strengthened affective bonds between the students and the teacher. It promoted the autonomy of the students through participatory methodologies, encouraged the development of life projects with social responsibility, and highlighted the role of school psychology in creating welcoming and reflective environments. These actions contributed to meaningful and transformative learning. It is concluded that the benefits of pedagogical practices based on meaningful learning showed favorable results not only beyond the learned content but also included social and emotional skills, by fostering student protagonism in their studies. Despite the limitations, the study points to pathways for new pedagogical actions that integrate the school, society, and the ethical formation of students, promoting critical, humanizing, and transformative education.
