APLICAÇÃO DO INSTRUMENTO WHOQOL-BREF EM PACIENTES ONCOLÓGICOS REABILITADOS COM PRÓTESE BUCOMAXILOFACIAL
Introdução: O câncer de cavidade oral representa um grave problema de saúde pública. Nas grandes ressecções têm-se como tratamento reabilitador a prótese bucomaxilofacial. Considera-se que pacientes submetidos ao tratamento cirúrgico de cabeça e pescoço, quando protetizados, venham apresentar melhora na qualidade de vida. Objetivo: relacionar o perfil demográfico, de estilo de vida e aspectos clínicos aos Domínios do instrumento de qualidade de vida WHOQOL- bref em pacientes oncológicos protetizados. Métodos: análise de 189 prontuários de pacientes atendidos na Fundação Oncocentro de São Paulo, diagnosticados com câncer de cabeça e pescoço e atendido entre os anos de 2014 e 2019. A análise partiu das variáveis e dos dados clínicos. O instrumento WHOQOL-bref foi aplicado e analisado no momento após a protetização. Resultados: a reabilitação com próteses obturadoras maxilares torna-se um importante recurso terapêutico na reabilitação do paciente, garantindo sua reintegração social e melhora na qualidade de vida. Conclusão: a qualidade de vida é mais comprometida no geral para os pacientes jovens. Quanto aos Domínios, o Físico mostrou-se mais comprometido para aqueles que consomem medicação e que referem outros sintomas; o Psicológico, para o gênero feminino; e o referente ao Meio Ambiente, para o gênero feminino e pacientes jovens.

Abstract:
Introduction: Oral cavity cancer represents a serious public health problem. In large resections, the maxillofacial prosthesis is used as a rehabilitation treatment. It is considered that patients undergoing surgical treatment of the head and neck, when fitted with prostheses, will present an improvement in their quality of life. Objective: relate the demographic profile, lifestyle and clinical aspects to the domains of the WHOQOL-bref quality of life instrument in prosthetic cancer patients. Methods: analysis of 189 medical records of patients treated at the Oncocenter Foundation in São Paulo, diagnosed with head and neck cancer and treated between 2014 and 2019. The analysis was based on variables and clinical data. The WHOQOL-bref instrument was applied and analyzed after fitting. Results: rehabilitation with maxillary obturator prostheses become an important therapeutic resource in inpatient rehabilitation, ensuring their social reintegration and improved quality of life. Conclusion: the quality of life is more compromised in general for young patients. As for the Domains, the Physicist was more compromised for those who consume medication and who report other symptoms; the Psychological, for the female gender; and the one referring to the Environment, for females and young patients.
