Abstract: This study highlights the importance of clear, accessible, and effective educational materials in health promotion, based on the analysis of an informational folder on Systemic Arterial Hypertension. The evaluation was conducted using the Suitability Assessment of Materials (SAM) instrument, which includes criteria such as content accuracy, linguistic complexity, readability, clarity of illustrations, and cultural appropriateness. The results showed that, although the material had qualities related to readability and content organization, it did not satisfactorily meet the parameters established by the SAM. With a final score of 0.57, the folder was classified as “Not Suitable,” indicating the need for improvements in several structural and communicational aspects. The study reinforces the relevance of methodologically rigorous evaluations in the development of health educational resources, considering that the quality of these materials is fundamental for the effectiveness of educational actions and for the improvement of the population's health outcomes.
