ANÁLISIS DE LAS PROPIEDADES Y APLICACIONES DEL HORMIGÓN TRANSLÚCIDO
A lo largo de la historia humana, el ser humano se ha dado cuenta de la necesidad de mejorar el entorno en el que vive, es decir, siempre ha buscado desarrollar nuevos conocimientos y tecnologías para mediar en su existencia. Como resultado, este artículo aborda un tema relevante en cuanto a aspectos de sustentabilidad y eficiencia en la ingeniería de materiales. El concreto como lo conocemos hoy en día es un material sólido y rígido, mientras que el concreto translúcido trae una idea diferente, deja las piezas de concreto transparentes al punto que la luz es capaz de atravesarlo debido al uso de fibra óptica. Si bien es muy popular para acabados y detalles arquitectónicos, el concreto translúcido se puede introducir en el contexto estructural, aumentando el rango de posibles aplicaciones de este innovador material. El presente trabajo analizará las características de este material, su composición, propiedades y aplicaciones con el objetivo de difundir conocimientos y servir de base para futuras investigaciones.

Abstract:
Throughout human history, human beings have realized the need to improve the environment in which they live, that is, they have always sought to develop new knowledge and technologies to mediate their existence. As a result, this article addresses a relevant topic regarding aspects of sustainability and efficiency in materials engineering. Concrete as we know it today is a solid and rigid material, while translucent concrete brings a different idea, it leaves the concrete pieces transparent to the point that light is able to pass through it due to the use of fiber optics. Even though it is very popular for finishes and architectural details, translucent concrete can be introduced in the structural context, increasing the range of possible applications of this innovative material. The present work will analyze the characteristics of this material, its composition, properties and applications with the objective of disseminating knowledge and serving as a basis for future research.
