Abstract: Physical inactivity, therefore, deficiency in physical condition, including motor coordination in children and adolescents, represent a significant problem at a global level. In this case, Ecuador is not exempt from this reality, which has repercussions on the tendency to develop chronic non-communicable and cardiometabolic diseases. In this context, the subject of Physical Education and its curriculum play a crucial role in promoting physical activity. However, the current curriculum in Ecuador lacks a pertinent proposal that guarantees the realization of physical culture in the student body. Therefore, the objective of this research focuses on analyzing through a systematic review of doctoral theses published between 2019 and 2024 that explore the relationship between the curriculum and physical fitness and, based on this, a substantiated proposal for the concretion of the elementary components. The study contemplates 19 doctoral theses (15 international and 4 national). The methodology employs a qualitative approach, with documentary review techniques using the analytical-synthetic method. The results show the lack of studies that assess the development of physical fitness during the course of an academic period in relation to the achievement of each thematic unit or elementary component, as well as a substantiated proposal for its pertinent achievement.
