ANÁLISE CRÍTICA DA PROPOSTA DE UMA NOVA UNIVERSIDADE
Inúmeros estudos têm mostrado a necessidade de mudança no sistema universitário brasileiro, especialmente o público. Diversas razões são apontadas para isso, podendo serem sintetizadas no descompasso entre sua forma de atuação e relacionamento com o seu ambiente de atuação: o que as universidades fazem não seriam bem aquilo que o ambiente externo espera e necessita. Este ensaio tem como objetivo avaliar criticamente a proposição de uma nova universidade feita por Almeida Filho (2007). Para isso, primeiro procurou saber o que é considerado uma universidade atualmente, recompondo o estado da arte sobre essa instituição, depois analisou os cinco pilares da proposta de nova universidade feita pelo autor: nova sistemática de permanência dos alunos e ampliação do número de vagas, consideradas ações de cunho gerencial, e nova formação interdisciplinar, nova estrutura curricular e novo processo seletivo, como ações de cunho acadêmico; e finalizou com a representação esquemática da nova universidade. A conclusão mostra que a efetivação de uma nova universidade precisa se dar sobre pilares gerenciais e acadêmicos para provocar as mudanças necessárias à edificação de uma formação humana integral.

Abstract:
Many studies have shown the need for change in the Brazilian university system, especially the public one. Several reasons are pointed out for this, which can be summarized in the mismatch between their form of action and relationship with their operating environment: what universities do would not be quite what the external environment expects and needs. This essay aims to critically evaluate the proposal for a new university made by Almeida Filho (2007). To do this, he first sought to know what is considered a university today, recomposing the state of the art about that institution, then analyzed the five pillars of the proposal for a new university made by the author: new systematics for the permanence of students and expansion of the number of places, considered managerial actions, and new interdisciplinary training, new curricular structure and new selection process, as academic actions; and ended with a schematic representation of the new university. The conclusion shows that the realization of a new university must take place on management and academic pillars to bring about the necessary changes to build a comprehensive human formation.
