Abstract: This study explores the evolution of scientific production on family farming and agricultural mechanization through a comprehensive bibliometric analysis. Using data from the Scopus and Web of Science (WOS) databases, publication trends, citation networks, and keyword co-occurrence were identified. The analysis, covering four decades, revealed an average annual growth of 4.99%, with a significant increase in publications after 2010. The findings highlight Brazil as the leading country in academic production on the topic, followed by European countries and the United States. Among the most cited studies, those addressing the interaction between agricultural mechanization, land reform, public policies, and rural credit stand out. The keyword co-occurrence analysis emphasized the centrality of terms such as "family farming" and "agricultura familiar," as well as the relevance of "land reform" as a link between various academic perspectives. The use of R software, with the Bibliometrix package, provided a detailed view of scientific publications and collaborations, facilitating an understanding of the dynamics within the research field. The results of this study not only outline an overview of global academic production but also provide a foundation for future research on sustainability, technological innovation, and the development of family farming.
