Abstract: Agriculture is the main activity in the primary sector in Brazil. The use of pesticides is linked to the optimization of food production. However, the use of this tool drives the discussion about the amount of pesticides consumed in the country. This debate is supported by the number of registrations granted annually. The increasing trend is not limited to the release of chemical-based pesticides but also includes all commercial products intended for agriculture. Some registrations are granted for bioinputs, products of biological, organic, and natural origin. The lack of knowledge about this information promotes a distorted perception of pesticide consumption in the country. Thus, the article sought to analyze the granting of registrations with emphasis on microbiological bioinputs, based on MAPA's annual reports regarding the commercialization of these bioinputs from IBAMA's reports. The results show an increase in bioinput registrations while the granting of chemical product registrations decline in recent years. Over the years, there has been an increase in the commercialization of microbiological products. The graphs suggest a change in agricultural practices, with an increasing trend towards the adoption of biological products and a growing focus on the adoption of microbiological bioinputs. It is hoped that this article will strengthen Brazil's position in the face of the growing number of registrations granted and point out the trend in the transformation of the agricultural sector regarding the use of chemical-based pesticides.
