ACIDENTES RODOVIÁRIOS EM TÚNEIS NO TRANSPORTE DE CARGAS E PRODUTOS PERIGOSOS
O desenvolvimento industrial
resultou em novas primordialidades,
principalmente no transporte rodoviário, mais
especificamente o transporte rodoviário de
cargas e produtos perigosos (PP). A expansão
da malha rodoviária brasileira não acompanhou
esse crescimento na mesma proporção e
sua ampliação culminou no surgimento de
vários túneis no traçado das rodovias, novas
ou modernizadas. Consequentemente, o
aumento do tráfego foi seguido de elevação
do número de acidentes rodoviários, inclusive
com acidentes dentro desses túneis que,
embora não sejam frequentes representam
sério risco ambiental, à saúde e à vida. Dentre
esses acidentes os mais perigosos são os
incêndios, cuja gravidade pode ser elevada
com a presença de produtos perigosos ou
mesmo produtos não considerados perigosos,
mas que após o início de sua combustão
podem comportar-se como tal. Os danos à
saúde humana vão de lesões leves, graves e
vítimas fatais.

Abstract:
The industrial development
resulted in new primordialities, especially in
road transportation, more specifically the road
transportation of hazardous products. The
expansion of the highway network did not
follow this growth in the same proportion and
its enlargement culminated in the appearance
of various tunnels on the tracing of the new or
modernized highways. Consequentially, the
increase of traffic was followed by the rise of the
number of road accidents, including accidents
inside these tunnels, although they are not
frequent, represent serious environmental risk
to health and to life. Among these accidents,
the dangerous ones are conflagrations, which
the danger can be elevated with the presence
of hazardous materials or even products that
are not considered harmful, but after the start
of its combustion can behave as a dangerous
product. The damage to human health can be
mild to serious injuries and fatal victims.
