Abstract: Amputation is a surgical procedure performed to save an individual's life, however, physical mutilations also involve psychological and social aspects that significantly reduce the patient's occupational performance. In order to maximize the rehabilitation process, the occupational therapist has used the aquatic environment as a therapeutic resource to achieve independence and autonomy in daily activities. This research aims to analyze scientific productions published in national and international literature that describe the intervention of occupational therapists with amputated individuals in the aquatic environment. The method used was an integrative literature review, which brought together articles from the following databases: Journal Portal of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), PubMed and LILACS. In an attempt to answer the guiding question, it was necessary to adopt eligibility criteria to expand the search, and thus, select 5 publications to compose the research corpus. Studies have highlighted the benefits of the aquatic environment in rehabilitation, as well as the importance of occupational therapists working with amputees. When observing the contributions of aquatic therapy added to the intervention of the occupational therapist in amputation, it was clear to identify the relevance of the aquatic environment as an occupational therapeutic resource with this clientele. The need for more research on this topic is highlighted.
