A Representação da Guerra Civil Moçambicana em Terra Sonâmbula
Este trabalho tem como objetivo
investigar como a guerra civil moçambicana
(1977-1992) se encontra representada no
universo ficcional do romance Terra Sonâmbula,
de Mia Couto. Na introdução, iniciamos com
um breve apanhado histórico da guerra civil
moçambicana, suas causas, trajetória ao
longo dos anos e impactos exercidos sobre o
país e sua população, para então inserirmos a
narrativa ficcional dentro do contexto histórico
do conflito, com suas duas narrativas paralelas,
uma dominada pelo real e a outra, a dos escritos
de Kindzu, onde o maravilhoso e o real se
imbricam de forma inseparável. A interação das
duas narrativas presentes na obra com a guerra
civil moçambicana, bem como a caracterização
desta em ambas, constituem o corpo do
trabalho, que foi realizado por meio de pesquisa
bibliográfica, com a leitura da obra em questão
e do suporte teórico necessário para sua
análise. Conclui-se que a mescla do real com
o maravilhoso dentro da obra constitui-se uma
maneira de tornar os horrores reais do conflito
palpáveis e verossímeis ao invés de relega-los
a segundo plano, trazendo a realidade histórica
da guerra para o cotidiano de uma população
que vê o real e o mágico como elementos
constituintes e complementares da realidade.

Abstract:
This paper has the goal of
investigating how the Mozambican Civil War
(1977-1982) is represented in the fictional
universe of Mia Couto’s novel Sleepwalking
Land. On the introduction we start with a historical
briefing of the Mozambican Civil War, its root
causes, trajectory and impacts exerted over the
country and its population, and then we insert
the fictional narrative into the historical context
of the conflict, with its two parallel narratives,
one dominated by the real and the other, the
Kindzu manuscripts, where the wonderful
and the real intertwine in an inseparable way.
The interaction between the two narratives in
the novel with the Civil War, as well as the its
characterization in both of them, constitute the
bulk of the paper, which was carried out through
bibliographical research, with the reading of the
novel in question and the theoretical support
material needed for accomplishing the analysis.
We conclude that the mixture of the real with the
wonderful inside the novel constitutes a way of
making the horrors of the conflict palpable and truthful instead of relegating them to a
second plane, bringing the historical reality of the war to the everyday life of a populace
that sees the real and the magic as constitutive and complementary elements of the
reality.
