Abstract: The objective of this text is to present the philosopher Maurice Merleau-Ponty's approach as a reader of Sartre, more specifically in his reflections on painting and literature. By trying to unravel the mysteries of the world using their bodies, the painter and the writer create objects of art. Our study also aims to show that the viewer and reader participate in the creative process. For the proposed article, we will analyze the text The indirect Language and the Voices of Silence, by Maurice Merleau-Ponty, in which he examines different forms of creative expression, notably painting and literature. In the end, we will conclude that the work of art is an unfinished attempt, always to be made and remade, to express the world, whose undertaking is continually taken up by the artist.
