Abstract: The process of including people with disabilities in schools and effective pedagogical practices by education professionals are based on legal principles. The aim is to reflect on how to include people with disabilities, particularly students with physical disabilities, in pedagogical practices that require body movement. This study emphasizes the importance of effective inclusion that respects the rights to participation and education in the school setting. Concerning the methodology, this study qualifies as theoretical-reflective based on a narrative perspective. This study was carried out as a result of observations of daily life in urban schools in the municipality of Parintins, state of Amazonas, Brazil. It was observed that some schools promote a wide range of activities, whether related to educational, cultural, or social aspects that demand body movement from students. However, students with physical limitations in most cases are excluded from the proposed activities. The conclusion is that education professionals must receive ongoing training in inclusive education and, consequently, change their educational practice in order to become professionals who are effectively committed to inclusive education. Dance is suggested as a methodological alternative to facilitate the inclusion of students with physical disabilities in activities that require body movement.
