“A MAÇÃ DO PROFESSOR”: EXPLORANDO O CÁLCULO DO VOLUME DE UMA MAÇÃ EM AULAS DE MODELAGEM MATEMÁTICA
O presente artigo apresenta relatos
de uma atividade desenvolvida entre discentes e
docente do curso de Licenciatura em Matemática
da Universidade Federal de Campina GrandeUFCG, campus Cuité – PB, durante aulas de
uma disciplina optativa, Modelagem Matemática.
Trata-se do cálculo do volume da maçã e da sua
área superficial, de uma forma investigativa e
de caráter exploratório-reflexivo, na perspectiva
da Modelagem Matemática apresentada por
Bassanezi (2006). As atividades desenvolvidas
se deram a partir de diferentes estratégias para
realização de tais cálculos, como a fórmula
do volume da esfera até o Cálculo Diferencial e Integral, sendo que estas obedecem a uma
sequência gradual em termos de complexidade
conceitual e de modo a dar capacidade ao aluno
na resolução de problemas e a desmistificar e
compreender a relação entre teoria e prática
em aulas de Modelagem Matemática através
de experimentações e validações matemáticas.

Abstract:
This article presents reports of
an activity developed among students of the
degree course in Mathematics of the Federal
University of Campina Grande-UFCG, located in
the city of Cuité, in the state of Paraíba. During
the course of an optional course, Mathematical
Modeling, we deal with the calculation of the
volume of the apple and its surface area, in an
investigative and exploratory-reflective manner,
from the perspective of Mathematical Modeling
presented by Bassanezi (2006). The activities
developed were based on different strategies for
performing such calculations, such as formula
of the volume of the sphere to the Differential
and Integral Calculus, which follow a gradual
sequence in terms of conceptual complexity
in order to empower the student in solving
problems, and to demystify and understand the relationship between theory and practice in Mathematical Modeling classes through
mathematical experimentation and validation
