Abstract: The partnership between PUC MINAS and APAC (Association for the Protection of the Convicted) has existed since 2006 in APAC Santa Luzia (SL), through extension activities in the Just Humans Program: interdisciplinary interventions within the scope of APAC and since 2019 in APAC Belo Horizonte (BH), through the ELAS extension project. This article is a pilot project with the aim of determining the difference between genders regarding the health diagnosis of the prison population in the APACs of SL and BH, through the application of the Nottingham Health Profile (PSN) questionnaire. The PSN was applied by five extensionists of the Physiotherapy course, in the closed system of APAC SL and in the semi-open and closed system of APAC BH, totaling 120 analyzed questionnaires. From the data analysis, the domain that stood out in both sexes was that of emotional reactions, emphasizing the need to intensify mental health care through a multiprofessional and interdisciplinary look. From these results, it was possible to recognize the importance of dialogic interaction by partially elaborating a health diagnosis of APAC SL and APAC BH and, thus, planning promising actions of both projects with more specificity. In addition, it is desired to expand the knowledge about the analyzed population, collecting their age to understand if this had an influence on the result of the application of the questionnaire, since each age has its particularities.
