A INSERÇÃO DO SISTEMA FERROVIÁRIO EM ARAGUARI-MG: TRANSFORMAÇÕES DA PAISAGEM ENTRE 1823 E 1950
Apresenta-se as origens e as
primeiras transformações da paisagem da
cidade de Araguari-MG. Para isso, analisamse
pesquisas relevantes produzidas sobre
a cidade e região, bem como consultas ao
Arquivo Histórico Municipal, objetivando melhor
compreender o contexto socioeconômico
impulsionado pela inserção da cidade à malha
ferroviária nacional e as decisões tomadas
sobre o planejamento e a gestão da paisagem
urbana. Foca-se na qualificação dos primeiros
espaços livres públicos, contribuindo para o
enriquecimento da história do Paisagismo da
cidade e da região do Triângulo Mineiro.

Abstract:
The work presents the origins and
the first transformations in urban landscape
of Araguari-MG, Brazil. In order to do so, we
analyze relevant researches produced about the
city and region, as well as consultations with the
Municipal Historical Archives, aiming to better
understand the socioeconomic context driven
by the city’s insertion into the national railway
network and the decisions made regarding the
planning and the management of the urban
landscape. It focuses on the qualification of the
first public spaces, contributing to the enrich the
Landscape history, the city and the region of
Triângulo Mineiro.
