A INFLUÊNCIA MUSICAL NO DESENVOLVIMENTO COGNITIVO DOS BEBÊS: da gestação aos dois anos
Este trabalho consiste numa pesquisa de natureza investigativa bibliográfica, e teve como objetivo compreender como a música pode influenciar o desenvolvimento cognitivo de bebês, e como a estimulação musical desde a gestação auxilia neste processo. A partir da vigésima semana de gestação, a capacidade auditiva dos fetos foi atestada e comprovada. Após o nascimento, os bebês demonstraram ter memória e preferências por sons ouvidos durante a gestação. A música promove o alívio da ansiedade e estresse vividos pela gestante e auxilia na criação do vínculo materno-fetal. A aula de musicalização para bebês é um ambiente agradável e rico em estímulos e incentivos para o desenvolvimento cognitivo e, preferencialmente, musical das crianças, além de estreitar a relação entre pais e filhos. As teorias de Piaget e Swanwick colaboram para a compreensão das etapas do desenvolvimento cognitivo e musical dos bebês respectivamente, e propiciam ao educador musical organizar e preparar suas aulas de forma condizente às etapas vividas por seus alunos. O educador musical precisa ser cauteloso ao preparar as aulas, visando a experiência do fazer musical em prol da música, e não só dos benefícios gerados por ela.

Abstract:
This work consists of a bibliographic research an investigative nature, and its objective was to understand how music can influence the cognitive development of babies, and how musical stimulation from gestation helps in this process. From the twentieth week of gestation on, the hearing ability of fetuses was attested and proven. After birth, babies have shown to have memory and preferences for sounds heard during gestation. Music promotes the relief of anxiety and stress experienced by pregnant women and helps to create the maternal-fetal bond. The music class for babies is a pleasant environment rich in stimuli and incentives for the cognitive and, preferably, musical development of the children, besides strengthening the relationship between parents and children. Piaget's and Swanwick's theories contribute to the understanding of the stages of cognitive and musical development of babies respectively, and enable music educators to organize and prepare their classes in a manner consistent with the stages experienced by their students. The music educator needs to be careful when preparing lessons, aiming at the experience of making music for the sake of music, and not only the benefits generated by it.
