A INFLUÊNCIA DA SUBSTÂNCIA CINZENTA PERIAQUEDUTAL NO PROCESSAMENTO DA DOR DE PACIENTES COM FIBROMIALGIA – UMA REVISÃO DE LITERATURA
A fibromialgia (FM) é uma síndrome de dor crônica generalizada, causada por um mecanismo de sensibilização do sistema nervoso central à dor. De acordo com a bibliografia, a PAG é responsável por mediar o processamento nociceptivo espinhal e, portanto, o objetivo desse estudo é revisar a literatura a fim de compreender a relação entre a PAG e a modulação da dor em pacientes com FM. A pesquisa de literaturas relevantes foi realizada por meio da base de dados PUBMED, através da combinação de descritores relacionados à FM, PAG e dor. Do total de 12 artigos selecionados, 8 preencheram os critérios contundentes com a pesquisa bibliográfica. Dentre os fatores mais relevantes apontados pela literatura está a alteração na conectividade funcional (CF) entre a PAG e algumas estruturas cerebrais.

Abstract:
Fibromyalgia (FM) is a chronic widespread pain syndrome caused by a central nervous system sensitization mechanism to pain. According to the literature, PAG is responsible for mediating spinal nociceptive processing and therefore, the aim of this study is to review the literature in order to understand the relationship between PAG and pain modulation in patients with FM. The search for relevant literatures was conducted through the PUBMED database by combining descriptors related to FM, PAG and pain. Of the total of 12 articles selected, 8 met the criteria consistent with the literature search. Among the most relevant factors pointed out by the literature is the alteration in the functional connectivity (FC) between the PAG and some brain structures.
