Abstract: This research aims to investigate the relevance of including the Libras (Brazilian Sign Language) discipline in Literature teaching degree courses and its impact on the formation of more capable educators to deal with deaf students. The study was conducted with students in the eighth semester of the Literature program, examining the conceptual foundations of inclusion and the role of Libras in this process. The research focuses on investigating the perception of students in the Literature Teaching degree program regarding the importance of including the Libras discipline in teacher training courses. The adopted methodological approach is qualitative and descriptive, utilizing semi-structured questionnaires to collect data from the students pursuing the teaching degree. The results emphasize that the majority of students recognize the significance of Libras training for inclusive teaching practice. Therefore, the research concludes that the inclusion of the Libras discipline in Literature degree courses plays a crucial role in training teachers who are better prepared for inclusive education and in building a school environment that values linguistic diversity and promotes equal access to education.
