Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the performance of lecturers, especially female teachers, highlighting gender as a factor that intensifies exploration. It is characterized by a documentary and theoretical assessment to discuss how the work of lectures was developed during the pandemic period. Through the literature review, it was possible to identify several problems, such as conceptual misunderstanding in the differences between distance education (educação a distância - EAD) and remote education (ensino remoto - ER), which had a direct impact on the actions undertaken by the State to guarantee the offer and access to education. In addition, there was a lack of training for teachers in order to prepare them for the use of new technologies in teaching, as well as the overload in the exploitation of work, especially the one performed by women. It was also observed, through this study, that it is necessary to take a closer look at teaching in the post-pandemic period due to the signs of increasing illness among teachers.
