A CONTRIBUIÇÃO DA TERAPIA EM GRUPO NA RECUPERAÇÃO DE MULHERES EM TRATAMENTO ONCOLÓGICO ACOMPANHADAS PELO TERAPEUTA OCUPACIONAL: REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA DA LITERATURA

• Abstract: Abstract Cancer is a disease caused by the disorderly multiplication of abnormal cells in a given area, responsible for the formation of tumors. In women, the highest incidence is breast cancer, a situation that is greatly feared due to the great impairment of its physical functionality, in addition to the psychosocial aspects. The objective of this research aims to analyze, through national and international literature, the contribution of occupational therapists in the use of therapeutic groups in the recovery of women undergoing cancer treatment. This is an integrative review of national and international literature, carried out in the Virtual Health Library, LILACS, CAPES Periodicals, SciELO, PubMed and its specific Occupational Therapy collection (Cadernos Brasileiros de Terapia Ocupacional, Revista de Terapia Ocupacional da USP and REVISBRATO) databases. The search for references was carried out from April to November 2024, in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and the time frame was between 2020 and 2024. After analysis, three publications were selected to compose the research corpus and the results indicated that group therapy enabled exchanges of experiences and reflections that favored improvements in the quality of life of the participants. It is concluded that the occupational therapist effectively integrates oncological care, in order to promote autonomy, well-being and emotional support for patients and their families.
