A ATUAÇÃO DA ODONTOLOGIA HOSPITALAR E USO DA LASERTERAPIA NA ATENÇÃO AOS PACIENTES COM COVID-19 EM UNIDADE DE TERAPIA INTENSIVA: RELATO DE CASO
Com o início da pandemia do coronavírus (Covid-19) e o aumento de pacientes submetidos a tratamento em Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI), se destaca o papel do dentista em ambiente hospitalar para diagnosticar, tratar e acompanhar lesões como úlceras na cavidade bucal, dor, gengivite descamativa e bolhas que podem estar presentes nestes pacientes com covid-19. O objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar um relato de caso descrevendo o protocolo de atendimento na atenção aos pacientes com Covid-19 em UTIs. A fototerapia com laser de baixa intensidade em lesões bucais se apresentou como uma excelente alternativa de tratamento dessas lesões bucais impactando positivamente no tratamento do paciente.

Abstract:
With the emergence of the pandemic coronavirus (Covid-19) and the increase in patients undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), the dentist's role in the hospital environment to diagnose, treat and monitor injuries such as ulcers in the cavity, pain, scaly gingivitis and vesicles that may be present in patients with covid-19. The objective of this work is to present a case report, describing the care protocol in the care of patients with Covid-19 in the ICU. Low-power laser phototherapy for oral lesions is an excellent alternative for the treatment of these oral lesions, positively impacting the treatment of the patient.
