Abstract: This work presents the territorial zoning maps of the areas apt for the absent quarantine pest (AQP) Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel, 1912 (Diptera: Tephritidae), which were performed focusing on support strategies of control, mainly chemical, in case of its incursion in Brazil. Geoprocessing techniques on GIS ArcGIS were used, making use of: a) national literature data, which presented the monthly territorial zoning maps of the Brazilian areas apt for the AQP B. dorsalis; b) national monthly averages of temperature (T) and of relative humidity (RH) (period from 1961 to 2021) obtained from those of BDMEP/INMET; c) municipalities grid of the country in 2018 (IBGE); and d) information plans of national fragile areas (represented by granulated and karstic sedimentary aquifers and of pluviosity above 250 mm.year-1),both performed by Embrapa. The zoning map of favorable areas for the better development of the AQP B. dorsalis, in at least one month in the year, on planted areas in Brazil with 18 host crops was made available, indicating areas where the monitoring of the insect should be intensified, given that the greatest need for the use of control (chemical or biological) measures would be expected. The crossing of this zoning with the information plans of national fragile areas made available the territorial zoning map of areas favorable for B. dorsalis located in national fragile areas, which indicated where the pesticides with active ingredients of greater transport potential (leaching or runoff) must be used under caution, to avoid undesirable contaminations of soil and of water. These areas are indicated for the use of biological control, if they are also suitable for the bioagents. The results obtained support public policies of national phytosanitary defense.
